Hi,
Despite advancing years I have a hankering to try a little gentle green laning - never ridden off road before but have 40 plus years on road bikes.
I have been looking for a cheap green laner and have taken on board advice that 200 - 250cc is more than enough for a novice. I'm quite a large unit - 6,3" and 115kg so have included bikes up to 400cc in my search.
I have considered XR250, XR400, DR350 and DR400. I have a budget of 2.5k but there doesn't seem to be a lot out there.
There is a KTM EXC525 available locally to me that looks pretty good and is close to my budget.
My query is will this bike be too much of a handful for a novice green laner? Appreciate "throttle goes both ways" but don't want to be launched into the scenery!
Any advice much appreciated.
Cheers, Davey
