After 23K my GS was due an MOT, which it failed on the rear shock lacking any rebound. The bike and I had recently returned from Scotland and I had noticed an unwanted change inherent handling as we headed South. :(

Anyway, after to speaking to BMW and getting a lead time of 10-12 weeks and a parts bill of circa £1800 I spoke to a tech on site and he recommended T-Tech Suspension in Croydon.
I have to say that Luke provided an exceptional service in double quick time. Within 7 days my re-test was sorted and I am back loving my bike.

I have no affiliation with Luke whatsoever, but would recommend him to anyone who needs a suspension professional. :okay

Did you have the ESA shock overhauled or replaced to a TT-shock?

Quite few on the forum have used Luke, he refurbed and lowered my Hexhead shocks by 30mm, excellent service.

Al.

If you don’t mind sharing what was the bill?

He is advertising on ebay.
Between 170 and 250 depending on what is needed

I managed to buy a working front shock for 87.50 delivered as a spare. Possibly should have not have and put the cash towards a rebuild, however when my last shock failed it was 3 days before a 2 week trip so became stressful. At least with a spare it helps somewhat

Good to hear you managed to get sorted Andy and life is now back to normal.:thumb2:thumb2

I have used Luke and I am in Bulgaria, I got in touch posted the rear ESA Shock to him, he did his magic and sent back to me happy days.
Ps BMW want €1,800 for new shock and 8-10 weeks

I've been to his workshop. He undoes the abs plug and re connects it. He does not just cut it off then re solder the wires like others do (I know the names who does but probably not right to post publicly). He also uses the right size washer when putting back together so it doesn't fail in 12 months and he uses a specially made tool to strip out the spring causing no visible marks to the outer casing, unlike the others. Clear scratch marks were seen. Great attention to detail and pride in his work.

Pleased to hear that others have also had positive experiences with Luke. He was certainly the quicker and cheaper option for this service.
The bike now feels much better and I had a wonderful ride round the Peak District yesterday to reacquaint myself with her poise.

£225 as I replaced a couple of parts he recommended and also I asked for a Saturday am next day delivery which is included in the £225.

Wouldn’t it be good to have a thread of companies/garages/blokes in sheds that are able to offer services similar to this?
I’m sure there are specialists in electronics, gearboxes, suspension etc that can do a good job at a decent price.

It might help counter the preconception (okay the reality) of extortionate dealer prices and encourage more people onto their bikes.

Just had my service & MOT done at AJ's and although they passed the shock, they are getting a new one for me under warranty.. 16K on the bike :(
never mind, might get another 16K before it needs doing again.

On a posative, Service, MOT and a ride on a new 1250 all for under £200... got to love AJ's :okay
