Google maps route into BMW’s Connected app - How?

Hi, Could anyone please tell me how I import a route from Google maps onto my BMW connected app on my phone please.
Do I need a gpx converter ? I can copy it from Google maps but the App doesn't recognise it.

I don’t use BMW’s Connected app but I’ll have a guess that you’ll need to start by converting the Google route into a GPX file. There are several app’s that will do that, including:

https://mapstogpx.com/

Then send the GPX route to the BMW Connected app.

Give it a go. If it works, great. If it doesn’t you’ll not break anything….. or you have maybe done it wrong….. or my guess is bollocks.

It goes on a bit but if nothing else, it tells you something about Idaho.


PS Due to the limit as to the number of pins (shaping points) that Google maps seems to have, you might need to splice several GPX routes together. That is easy to do in BaseCamp or MapSource. The need to splice might though depend on how long or (more particularly) how intricate your Google maps’ route is.

Done it now thanks with some help from a guy on BMW LT Forum. Using Google maps and then ITN Convertor.

Wapping i will put the guide here. Please move it if you want to another section.
Google maps to GPX format onto ITN convertor then to the BMW connected app on your phone ready for the TFT sat nav
No 1 Download ITN convertor. Its free
No 2 Copy your google map route and paste onto ITN convertor then press editor then get directions and validate changes.
Then export file format Garmin Zumo then export file
Then i do it one drive my documents and save it.

Then onto BMW Connected App.
Route import Find your file and it should import the file .
I hope this is a little bit helpful as i am no expert in doing guides but i have done my best.
