In a frenzy of farkling I bought a Bumot Tool Box to match my Bumot Panniers and Top Box. Sadly whilst the panniers, top box and bag accessories are excellent quality the tool box is not. Moreover it's far too small at 2 and a bit litres. I bought the Bumot tool roll to go with the box but once I put a wrench or two in the roll I need to be a gynecologist to get it in and out of the box. To put it into perspective it's a squeeze to stuff my Oxford travelling half cover in there loose, which comes supplied in a bag about the size of 3 spectacle cases. In other words the toolbox is an expensive mistake at €120 + €34 for the tool roll. Moreover after less than half a dozen uses the lock broke off on day two of a three week ride :-(. Bumot replaced the door but its still too small and is destined for the bin.
And so I'm in search of a better tool box. The Wunderlich box looks pretty good but wow, do they know how to charge £150 +/-. Then whilst researching the problem I came across several Chinese knock offs or maybe they're originals sold as knock-offs as much of Wunderlich's gear is made in China? Anyway has anyone tried one of these plastic Chinese tool boxes that all look the same and retail for €30-50?
