Hi folks, I've recently moved over from 12 years of R1150GS ownership and have a 2008 GSA with a stock setup (exhaust, cat, etc.).
It's a 34k bike in great condition, and one of the first things I did was give it to Steptoe for a once over (passed with flying colours).
Since then some strange things have developed. When I get stuck into slow traffic (central London) and the bike is hotter than it would normally run, it's started stalling when off the throttle and pulling up at lights. I can just about manage it by bringing clutch in earlier than I would, but it's totally different from how the bike behaves normally - only when it's hot. It's then sluggish to start again - making me think it was the battery at first but even with a strong charge and after an hour of motorway is still does it so I think the 'struggles' come from elsewhere.
A few times I've also had strange behaviour when starting from cold. Once I pressed the button and nothing happened at all. Yesterday, I started it, and then it cut out soon after. I had to get on and ride immediately and it was fine. I suspect the two things are linked but not certain.
Any thoughts? Stick coils? TPS?
