Feckin ‘ell Trickster!
Are you really going to drag this one out across several episodes!
Calm down you know this will be brief.
HD Rennes were nice offering me a coffee followed by the odd gallic shrug and very little else TBH. And something about in three days time they could take a better look as they were very busy.
So Plan B was put into action. Forget heading south and ride around Brittany a bit and see if the bike sorts itself out fuelling wise with plenty of 98 RON etc.
I booked a room in a nice little Guest House up the coast in Paimpol.
The old couple who owned it spoke no English but seemed charmed by my old Yankee bike and constantly kept giving it the thumb's up. I didn't have the heart to give it the thumbs down to them.
I'd give a
to Paimpol however.
The skylight view from my room the next morning. Ok lets ride Brittany!!
After breakfast my hosts gathered by the front door to give me the big wave off.
Which happened eventually and after several attempts to get the bike to start. Plenty of gallic shrugs this time from me and an acknowledging nod or two from Monsieur Owner who obviously knew a thing or two about Harley Davidsons.
Lets be honest. Things were heading one way and that was recovery to HD Rennes to spend days on end waiting for them to attempt a fix and order parts they probably didn't have whilst I was holed up on the edge of town in an F1 pissing into my own sink or something.
Plan C. Get back to St Malo and dump.. sorry park the bike at the Ferry Terminal Building, book on the next Ferry to Portsmouth and probably push the bike onto the Ferry.
I made it back just with a lot of coughing and spluttering and flatulence (The bike not me
).
I explained by predicament to the Staff there and booked on the next Ferry to depart the following morning. They said I could leave my bike in its current resting place.
Good job I upgraded my security system a couple of weeks ago.
Goodbye and see you tomorrow morning.
Booked a room in the Old Town and walked there in about 10 minutes.
Hi Honey I'm home!
What a lovely place St Malo is.
