Guys, have any of you fitted these Urbano Cortina bar muffs to a late 1200/1250 GS

It is this particular ‘Cortina’ model that I’m asking about, I was looking to the get the Wunderlich versions but the Wunderlich ones are fairly bulky, whereas these Cortina’s are pretty neat.

However on the plus side the Wunderlich type have useful transparent windows so the rider can see the controls whereas these Cortina’s don’t.

I use these in the cold weather for commuting. Work very well.

Rallye GS, are these the exact same model (Cortina) that you use?

If yes, can you manage the control buttons and wizzy wheel okay hidden beneath the cover.

Exact same one yes. All controls are accessible, less riding modes and heated grips/seats.

I use these on my commute through the winter, too. They’re fit for purpose. You can use the switches etc. without needing to look at them, no bother.

For years I used Tucano’s older style muffs (similar to the current “Val Gardena”) which were much more rigid, but they really got in the way when trying to manoeuvre the bike at standstill.

These are better when it comes to manoeuvrability as they are slightly shorter. They keep your hands warm enough, though not as toasty as the older ones.

If you’ve not bought anything yet, have a look at Barkbuster Blizzards. They’re more open at the back than some other designs so are far easier to get hands in, don’t restrict any controls, and with them fitted I often still ride mid-winter in my perforated summer gloves with heated grips on low. They’re really good.

Thank Max, bugger just read your post tonight but after ordering the above from Mr Nippy this afternoon, I’ll still have a look though. Cheers!

i had the blizzards and changed to the cortinas above which imo are much better as i felt the barkbusters are too open at the back draughty

I agree, I bought a pair of Blizzards and found exactly the same issues as autogs, I don’t have the Cortina’s but I have the older Tucanos and they are definitely superior to the Blizzards.

Late to this I know but I fitted a set of Urbanos to my GS some time ago when I was commuting up to The Met .. oh my days what a difference they made .. amazing bit of kit and it was very much "why on earth didn't I do this years ago ?" Get some as you wont regret it. :)

I was so nervous clicking on this thread title.

I’ve just fitted a set and maiden voyage tomorrow. I like them so far, controls easy to reach and as others have mentioned, shorter and flexible for manoeuvring the bike.

Plus I get to show off the yellow hand guards still :D :D

Well they are fitted and they are working very well indeed and don’t look too bad either, but most of all they keep my hands toasty warm even with my thinnest Rallye GS summer gloves.
