Not my first time changing them but, when installing the new Ferodo's, I noticed a difference in thickness.

Ferodo tell me that is BMW's requirement specification.
Now I know something new and you lot as well .

Never noticed that before. I have some new sintered Ferodo’s at home. I’ll have a look at them over the weekend and let you know.

Same as they’ve been since 1994. Sliding rear brake caliper, which means one side wears out quicker than the other. So in theory both sides should reach the end of their life at the same time.

Fairy nuff. :thumb2
I put a set in mine a few years back. They may have gone in the wrong way round! :blast

They can only be fitted one way…. There are identical shaped pads available with even thickness of friction material, but for the bmw they need the set with the thicker pad.

I looked at my new spare rear Ferodo pads for my 1150 last weekend and they are indeed different widths! :thumb2
You live and learn. :D
