I need new computer, say 16Gb RAM, 512 Gb SSD, i5 plus cd/dvd player and Black Friday conveniently beckons BUT whilst a laptop would mean access to a computer in any room in the house (a big advantage for me) £££ repair costs & lifetime issues steer me away from laptops and towards getting another solid desktop (Apple is not an option :rolllaugh

Cruising the BFriday deals reveals unexpected options like the Dell Optiplex which seems to do same as a normal desktop but at a fraction of the size, then there are the All-in-One monitors with the computer built into the display…. so what to do. Anyone got a mini tower, Optiplex type compact or an All-in-One PC and if so are they actually any good and do they need a cable-link to the modem router (like a desktop) or can they be retrofitted with a ‘magic board’ presumably complete with a built-in aerial to give the device mobility, at least within a house? Thanks in advance! DT
