Macbook Pro or Air Wanted

Testing the water to see what is out there - not sure if I will bite the expensive bullet of buying new.

Prefer 15" screen, upto 2015 (so I can upgrade it - after that you cannot add RAM or new HD) - What Have You Got?

My genuine advice would be to buy a used or discounted M1 Air.

You can't upgrade them of course and they're not as ass kicking as the newer chips, but they put any Intel Mac to shame inc my i7 6 core Mini with 64GB of RAM. My Air with 512 storage (with the extra graphics core) and 8GB of RAM is astounding. Feck knows what the newer chips are like....

D, I hear you but I like the larger screen and ports on the earlier MBP.

With an upgraded SSD (I want 2TB), a late 16GB MBP with dual graphics will "do" me for a good few years I reckon. Mostly surfing/email type stuff but hopefully some 4K video editing too.

I like to get value for money - I'm typing this on a 2008 MBP - I have Scots blood and lived in Yorkshire

I'm stalking several 2015 MBP 15" on eBay ATM.
