Recommend me a leather conditioner

Neatsfoot oil. Readily available in your local supermarket

Cheers. Got renapur for my boots. Didn’t realise jackets too

I use it on boots, although not on my Altbergs on which I use their Ledergris. I also use it on my leather jackets, my leather bike seat and I've also used it on gloves although I tend to use Nikwax Glove Proof on those.

Pecards Motorcycle Leather Dressing. Comes in black or clear.

Renapur is great stuff, but the Pecards is better for leather jackets, saddlebags, saddles etc....

I used to use Renapur, but it can clog leather's pores. Hideout recommended Gold Label Hide Food over Renapur.

Also, I see Duckswax is sold by BKS, which counts as a solid recommendation.

One problem with leather food is all the old wives tales. Several issues are allegedly associated with neatsfoot oil (it damages stitching; it conditions leather in the short-term but speeds up its breakdown in the long term). I have no clue how many of these negatives are myths!

I do, however, trust Hideout and BKS for leather advice. So, it's Gold Label Hide Food or Duckswax for me. I find Duckswax is fractionally better at adding some water repellency, but there's not much between the two.

I haven't found a decent leather cleaner to use before the 'hide food'. Hideout recommended – and so I've stuck with – warm water and a clean cloth. Previously, I'd tried Nikwax Leather Cleaner because it seemed sufficiently gentle; but it appeared to remove very little dirt!
