I see no reason for the 100r being any more thirsty than a GS or any other 1000cc airhead,
It’s more likely the chap was thrashing the tits off it trying to keep up with bikes with a lot more power

That looks good. Q tech subframe and rear seat on your build?….. or going with something else similar?

Love a Q-Tech-alike. Pretty sure you want to keep your scrambler and build that for me instead. That's what you want to do. Yep. Definitely.

Got the frame back from stripping/blasting,
Need a few bits to bolt to it now,
See what brackets need welding on or cutting off
Good news is,no cracks or bends or distortion.
I’ll do a dry build first and make sure everything is straight.
