Good morning could I please ask if anyone has successfully changed the clutch pushrod oil seal on r80g/s without stripping the box ? the box is out of the bike and on the bench as I have replaced main bearing seal. My dilemma is do I attempt to change it ? Strip the box ? Or put it back as is ? I don’t think it’s leaking but would prefer to change after 40 years . Bet most of you didn’t even know that there was a clutch pushrod seal ? Best wishes MIchael

Why would you strip the gearbox - the seal is pressed into the end of the input shaft and can be accessed readily with the box out ?

You will need a good-fitting drift, and care. These little seals collapse quite easily if not properly aligned (DAMHIK).

There is nothing much to be gained from having the input shaft out.

Bob.

Thank you Bob that’s rather what I thought and as I have a lathe I can easily make a drift . Job for tomorrow every thing is a job for tomorrow? Take care
