Hi, just read through the main thread relating to the final drive failures...but it seems to point more towards the earlier single cam bikes 2004-2008 etc, well i was wondering as my 2012 has the later type final drive with the drain plug at the bottom are these units more reliable/les prone to problems etc.
Btw i did an oil change over Christmas and took the shaft out to lube the splines, and while the final drive unit was hanging down i was able to use the drain plug to refill with the specified 180 ml of Castrol long life 75/90 Axle, I’m guessing this is ok rather than taking the small screw out at the back and filling through there?
