Scrambler 1200 Steve McQueen version.

Genuine question… It’s just some accessories and a paint job, right?

It is indeed but as I understand it the certificate is signed by Steve McQueen's son.
A combination of that and a limited release of 1,000 (I think) bikes makes them very desirable to some people.
It was certainly the Steve McQueen element that made the bike an absolute 'must have' for my mate.

Funny seeing this thread here, I have one of the SM scramblers, and I'm currently flirting with the idea of changing it for a GSA1250 (it would be my 3rd GSA, I had two of the GSA1200's).

I just got back into biking last year after 7y away and thought the SM scrambler looked gorgeous. I'm 6'7" too so need a tall bike and it fits me nicely.

It's a great bike, just sometimes I miss the luggage, shaft-drive, suspension and sheer size/comfort of the GSA.

Decisions, decisions ...
