Nice one Wapping! We are in this area at least 5 times a year because it being so close to NL. The Vulkaneifel route is close to one I had made myself and all look very good. Can highly recommend this area for a long weekend even from UK. Overnight ferry from UK to Rotterdam or better Hook of Holland due to early arrival; day 1 run east to the Eifel - motorway and then B roads once over the border into Germany, day 2 in the Eifel, & last day run back to Coast and over night back home.
If anyone needs more info ideas be happy to help based on own experience

Thank you, Grant.

We on the eastern edge of the England, especially in the SE corner, are spoilt with easy communication into the region. I agree that it’s great to go into Germany. Indeed, I have stayed in St Vith and Vianden with no other intention but to go eastwards, out in a day long circles. There again, I have stayed near Spa and not gone into Germany at all, hooning off southwards, into or towards Luxembourg instead. The great thing is the choices you get, not least of roads and views, but of directions to take. Better, in my view, than the Alps or Pyrenees for variety, if nothing else….. and a lot closer than both.

I could be having a senior moment but, for the life of me, I cannot see how to download the .gpx files.
- if I click on the download gpu file button, it just takes me to a map

You managed better than me, I still can't find the download link?

I am having the same problem as Headtester.

I can download the routes’ PDF files really easily.

On an iPad I can find the link to download the ADAC GPX files. But All I can do is display the GPX route on ADAC’s website, I don’t seem to be able to physically download or save it. I will have a go on my Mac at some point.

Go to the section of the screen which highlights each route.

Click on ‘Download gpx’, which confusingly seems to open up on a map of the Eifel

Wait a bit, to allow stuff to fully download - it is a bit slow

Then scroll down to the bottom and, below the map, you will find a list of routes with buttons to click to download the files

Worked on my MacBook and iPad Air

The files, on quick inspection, don’t seem to be the best. Some are gpx, and some tracks. But that may just be me and how quickly I was trying to do it

Quick link to downloads here https://www.adac.de/der-adac/regionalclubs/nrw/motorradtouren-fuers-navi/

That worked - thank you,

Using Paul08's "how to" and Wapping's oft quoted "you can't break it" :-

Scroll the page itself down (scroll the page, not the map) so you can see the text below the map, you should then see the GPX link. Some links give you a download, some take you to another page.

Thanks all

if you go to the page listed above from paul08 there are many more tour gpx to download, just click on the down arrow next to the name of the tour and download the relevent gpx to suit your unit. some listed below.
