For what it’s worth I received the email offer but couldn’t really see what the difference was from what I have now & they wanted more money per month. So I didn’t bother…

Dunno. But my recommendation (if it's available for you in your area) is to just get BT to install fibre directly to your house. Then ditch the BT supplied hubs/disks and anything else they provide. Replace all of that with mesh network from NetGear or similar plugged directly into the fibre ONT.
Then you will be just fine. Rock solid, high speed connectivity. 900mbps down / 100 mbps up for £30 a month here. All my teenage kids can stream 4K PornHub simultaneously (at least, that is what I presume they are doing) and the adults can watch 4K streamed Netflix/whatever at the same time without it missing a beat.
In conclusion, the BT fibre pipes to the house are great, but the equipment they supply to connect you to it isn't so good.
