I have never been a huge fan of Ram Mounts.

Having fitted the very tac tec sounding 'Emergency services' bar to my 850 GSA, along with the short Ram Mount that comes in the XT box, I found:

a. It doesn't look like the neatest thing on Earth.

b. The XT vibrates at some speeds, which is just annoying.

Looking to cure at least the aesthetics and (hopefully) the vibration issue, I ordered up a much better looking and simpler mount from Belgium.

Good people to shop from. Not the cheapest out there but:

a. Easy to order and straightforward to pay for.

b. It arrives promptly ie. well under a week.

c. It is well made, neatly and safely packaged.

All done and a big improvement on the Garmin ‘Out of the box’ Ram Arm kit.

The bolts and nuts are a bit of an odd size.

The nuts are 7 mm, I used a dual open ended / ring spanner.

The bolts that clamp the XT cradle to the mount are 2.5 Allen.

The bolts that clamp the mount to the ‘Emergency Services’ crossbar are 3 Allen.

Used on a long weekend jaunt to Belgium. Faultless, any vibrations reduced to all but zero.
