Never say never Rob . How are you enjoying your new(ish) abode?

I'm not sure if it's the same Rob Farmer we all know, there's been no mention of soft southern shandy drinkers yet so until then I'll remain slightly suspicious.

I've moved on to a calmer, more understanding, level in line with my elevation to an RT rider Geoff :)

To be honest I’m not feeling the love at the minute. The riding position is dreadful. The pegs are too high, even with the seat in the high position.
I’ve ordered a pair of wunderlich footpeg lowering blocks to drop the foot position down 30mm and a 20mm riser to lift the bars slightly. I’m hoping the mirrors will be usable once the risers are installed.

Time will tell.

I picked a 2011 one up a few months ago following 4 years with a 1200 GSA, it had bar risers which didn’t help me with the riding position until I took them off, I also have the foot peg lowers which help, the mirrors take a lot of getting used to, I keep looking where I think they should be!!

I sold a pan European a few weeks ago, the mirrors on the pan are superb. I had a similar issue with the riding position fitting lower footpegs, bmw rt bars and a better seat.

Looking forward to getting it sorted and a few miles in

I'll only be convinced it's Rob when gravy gets a mention.

I sold my Pan 1300 about 18 months ago and bought a 2010 Twin Cam RT. It already had bar risers fitted and with the seat on high (plus a sheepskin cover) I find the riding position comfortable, footpegs a bit lower might improve it but I just don't feel the need. The mirrors are just as good as the Pan (IMO) and the view is excellent. The big advantage over the Pan is that the RT is lighter by about 65kilos and is much easier to manage on the drive and in the garage. Mine also has Corbin heated seats which are a definite improvement on standard.

Health to enjoy your RT which I'm sure you will when you've got it sorted.

FFS! I only picked it up on Sunday!!

One of the dangers of buying a bike with tech you know nothing about. Turns out the ESA shocks are fubar which explains why i wasn't gelling with the bike. there was enough damping for it to be ok at low speeds but dangerous at higher speeds. neither the stepper motors for the damping or the preload do anything.

Im sending them off to TT-Tech suspension, Luka who owns the business is highly recommended and is a specialist with the ESA shocks.

Bit of a bummer but at least I got to check out the rest of the bike. Considering its done 42k i'm impressed.

Don't quote me, but it looks like you have an Alloy rear hub on that bike (BMW recall).
