Hi all,

I'm having an issue with my 1150 not starting.

It was running, then I got it out of the garage, washed it, put it away. Next time I tried to start it, nothing.

There is no fuel pump whine when turning on the ignition.

I've checked fuses and relays, put a meter on the green/white wire at the fuel tank connecter and measured volts when ignition switched on, got 12ish volts for a second or so before dropping back as I believe is expected.

So it looks like fuel pump, it it toast or is there something simple I may have overlooked?

Cheers,
Rob.

Have you checked the kill switch?

Thanks, kill switch is fine I think, with kill switch off starter moter doesn't turn, with kill switch on, starter turns and tries to start the bike.

Instrumentation is fine as well, fuel level shows as normal, usual lights on etc.

check plug on rhs , that powers fuel pump.

just cos it's connected, doesn't mean it is working.

Ta,

I've checked the tank connector on the green/white wire and definitely get 12v for a bit when turning the ignition on. I guess I'll whip the tank off and have a look there.
