Thanks to Wapping I now have a cradle and mount to take to US in September. Having no clue on electrics my next question is
1. Can I attach these wires to a charge socket on the bike (using the standard plug in ''cigarette lighter'' style jack) into the socket next to the screen and
2. if I do that which of the wire's do I need to attach to this jack in order to get power.

Not sure if I am clear enough but in a nutshell I want to cut the cables and fit them to a socket plug sort of plug and play.

There seems to be 2 connectors which normally would get fitted to the bikes electrical loom somehow one has a brown and white cable the other more colours. Really appreciate any help.

cheers

Hi Grant,

Here, on an earlier model, is how to do it without chopping the connector off….

That would be my preferred route, I guess.

But, if you want to go snip, here’s how:

One very last question - with the attached picture which is the positive and which is negative? Any ideas?
This will help with the attaching of the cables in the right order and not blowing my Nav.

I recently did this - I chopped the cable just before the plastic connector/splitter. The power wires are in a separate shielded/foil covered wrapping, these are the ones you need to connect. The other ones you can just ignore. I connected to a superseal plug and a cable like yours and works perfectly (I did check the polarity several times first !)
