As Capt Mainwairing would say "here's a little wrinkle for you" :D

I bought a 2017 RT LC recently and as a tall bastard and being fussy I found that you feel like you are sliding forward on the seat when braking harder... Sort of downhill...
After fixing the same thing on an XTZ12 I did the same this weekend on the RT... All I did was cut 10-15mm off the bottom of front seat rubber and added the same to the top with the XTZ bungs I had left over... A bit of narrow gaffa tape and the fact that the rubbers are a tight fit on the spindles and the height is raised by the 15mm at the front...

I bought a couple of spares just in case but TBH if you want the normal height again then you rotate 90 degrees forward and its back to normal... Made a difference to me and as there is a gap under the seat on the normal high setting anyway, it doesn't change much else...

Any chance of pics?

Here they are... Sharp Stanley knife blade to cut off bottom 10-15mm... something of equal size for the top, in this case left over Yamaha bungs with the pin part cut off... Gorrila Gaffa to tape them together and all good... Seat is level and no more sliding forward... Funnily I had just bought the RG tank grips to help but with the seat level you don't really need them...:thumby:

Still in development as a few hundred miles down Scottish bumpy A & B roads showed it to be prone to rotating forward and returning to normal height... Now working on permanent fix as I like the level seat... Will update...:thumb

4 minute fag paper type thinking on this and I remembered I had original seat bungs from yam which are .... Twice the height...!🙄 Square off top and add thicker bung and hey presto... Hopefully not prone to rolling forward.😉👍 See how it goes

I used the offset bungs you can get for the GS to lift the front of the seat(about 10mm)on my 1200r while I was looking for a high seat for it, worked ok didn’t rotate round, obviously smoother roads in Devon, or I’m heavier which held them in place!!

Ha ha... I rode for a day and a half down A and B roads from Scrabster zig zagging across Scotland and then the NE before I remembered the damping had a soft setting...:D
