Jutland is the bit of Denmark that sticks out of Germany’s Baltic coast.

For anyone who might find themselves in that part of the world (instead of going to the Black Forest….. again) might find this jaunt that I have lifted from the German Motorrad magazine (12/2022) of interest.

I have included screenshots of the article, not because I speak German (I can’t) but it includes pictures, which translate into any language. Similarly, I can use what little imagination I do possess, to surf around on the internet to find other things of interest about the area.

I like going to Denmark because it usually means I’m on my way to somewhere better :D

In all seriousness, it’s a pleasant enough place to visit if foreign languages are a weak point because nearly everyone speaks English and there are some excellent towns on the coast where you can spend an afternoon wandering around without getting bored.

Not the most exciting riding in DK, but pleasant enough for a bimble around.

We like to stay at either Hussum, just south of the border in Germany (Theodor Storm), or Ribe (plenty of options, including the old jail).

Moving on north in Jutland, it's nice to stay around the fjords, further north of the route suggested - we found a warm welcome in this Kro ........... https://www.tambohus.dk/ which was ideal for exploring the area, but make sure you take some refreshments along with you as many of the small towns & villages are all but deserted these days.

Then, the larger towns of Alborg (with a detour up to the NE tip at Skagen) & the more lively Arhus are worth a detour. Personally, I can do without visiting Billund/Legoland but, hey, whatever takes your fancy.

The weather can play a few tricks, particularly the wind off the North Sea/Skagerrak.

It used to be a lot easier to visit when the ferry ran from Harwich so Esbjerg but even now you can be in the region featured by late afternoon if you get a ferry to either Rotterdam or The Hoek.

We’ve been to a bike rally a little bit further north than the featured area a couple of times and had a great time but the locals get very envious over newer bikes because of the cost to buy one in Denmark
