The two lugs which the bolts holding the beak pass through have broken off of my fairing bracket.

Is this a common problem?

Does the Adventure fairing bracket fit the non adventure? (The lugs are braced on the adventure)

Is it easy to get the beak off without taking the tank off and then make a welded repair or should I just replace the part?

I checked out the frame which holds the instruments, lights and oil cooler and the GSA uses the same part as the GS so I got a brand new GSA fairing bracket for a very reasonable price on eBay, and yes it does fit. It's a big job to remove (mainly because it's hard to figure out how it comes apart and to avoid breaking anything.) everything and change the bracket, but not so hard to put back together.

I'm guessing this isn't a common failure but BMW added strength to the GSA version so presumably not unknown. In addition to these two lugs it is the indicators that hold the frame to the bracket so they need to be tightened securely.
