I’m hoping to mount my Zumo XT on my 1250rs using a high level mount from Wunderlich or Moto Mate.
The blurb and reviews say that neither can be used with bar risers because the bars , when on full lock, hit the Nav. My bike has up/back risers fitted.

Does anyone have experience of this issue? Can it be eliminated with a bit of tweaking? I assume not but the only daft question etc etc..

I’m wondering if the problem only exists with the BMW mounting cradle for their Navigator 5/6 as it’s quite chunky with the lock sticking out the side and the thickness of the cradle generally.

The XT set-up is only as big as the Nav unit itself and may , or may not, cause clearance issues.
Any input appreciated before I take the plunge.
Thanks.

Nav mount

Fitted the Wunderlich Nav bracket today. Easy enough to do.
I have used a Rally Raid mount attached to the cross bar on the Wunderlich bracket and decided to take a chance and not bother with the bit that Wunderlich say is needed if the bike has bar risers fitted as I hoped the RR mount would position the Nav slightly higher and nearer. Thankfully my cunning plan paid off and the Nav is clear of the screen and the master cylinders on full lock.:thumb2

I thought all these brackets used a standard 12mm diameter bar but seemingly not….Wunderlich claim 13mm ( measured at 13.7mm) and the RR mount is designed for 12mm bars (as per the Tenere 700 it was previously used on and rock solid).

The RR mount wouldn’t grip the Wunderlich cross bar tight enough to stop the weight of the Nav pulling it downwards.
Luckily I had an old 12mm mounting bar in the garage which sacrificed a 59mm section of itself and was used in place of the piece supplied.

The XT power is supplied from the spur under the rhs fairing panel and was easy enough to route out of the way after removing the screen and mounting parts.
