I just been potholed

I hit a pothole in Cambridge a couple of years ago (in my car) and the tyre got trashed, rim was OK. I put a claim in to the local council and they paid out for a new tyre. Only problem is is took quite a few weeks. They do have a duty of care to make sure the road surface is safe. Good luck anyway

My wife did two tyres on a metal grid rim that was surrounded by holes in the road surface in 2018, I took photo`s with a measure to prove they were...Well I put in a claim with the County Council and no surprise it was rejected...She then did another tyre just before she stopped driving and I didn`t bother, it was cheaper to move to another country in the end:D

Everyone should just buy a tank with a working gun turret in my opinion.:beerjug:

Sent wheel to Maidstone Motorliner- very helpful, did a fantastic job sent wheel of Monday returned Friday, would use again (let us hope I never need to!)

I have found that whilst in the job, and since I’ve left, if you see pot holes make sure the council are informed as soon as possible.
I always use the words wheel damaging and a potential danger to motorcyclists or cyclists. It’s amazing how quick they can rustle up hole filling tarmac then. Social media is also good because they cannot deny knowing about the issue.

Having had wheel repaired need paint either touching up or respray/powder coat. Live in Fareham between Portsmouth and Southampton . Any recommends please

You could ask "The Wheel Specialist" at Segensworth, they did a great job of powder coating my Audi TT rims, I'm not sure if they would do a bike wheel though but its worth asking.

I have used K&N Finishing in Portchester for powder coating steel fabrications in the past, good service from them. Again I don't know if they do wheels but you could ask.

I got my corroded R1 wheels blasted and powder coated a few years ago at a place near Denmead for a great price, I can't find their name online and lost their business card.

I've had paint done by Wayne Southwell at WSG Body Repairs in Southampton, he's good and not too expensive. I recently used Fareham Bodyworks down by the Skoda dealership on Newgate Lane and they were very good also.

Around here they gave a different solution, if they get a report of a pothole rather than repairing it they send out a little man who spray paints around it with yelliw or white paint.

In their mind it is now more visible and it notes they are aware of the issue plus they now say that you should have seen it and if you hit it then it is your fault.

I hit the mother of all pot holes a few years back on the way to work and damaged a nearside front wheel and tyre on my car, council initially tried to weasel out of paying and actually bodged a repair the day I reported it.

They only paid out when I because I sent them photographs of the 7 inch deep by 18 inch wide pot hole (which was on the apex of a blind left hand bend), to take it I had returned to the scene 30 minutes later and closed the road with my police vehicle which I made sure was in the photographs and then informed the council via their emergency number and put up police signage and cones to warn other motorists
