Nearly two years in the planning/ negotiation etc and finally imported from that there Europe.

This beautiful 1974 750 sport had not turned a wheel in 35 years having come from a private collection. In totally original spec too, even down to the striations on the hex head bolts and the yellow nyloc bolts.
it’s still got the (pretty rubbish) single Scarab front brake, normally trashed and upgraded.

I remember reading the review of this in Bike, then read it again, and again, and……..Simply stunning

That is just beautiful:okay, proper 70's colour too, enjoy:thumb2 Cheers:beerjug:John B

Wow!!!! That is exquisite.

What a superb example, that orange paint is just glorious.

Congratulations.

That is beautiful, one of the best looking bikes of all time

Bizarrely I have a recurring dream (that I have been having off and on for 30 odd years) where I am riding one of these over a hump back bridge

I got banned in 1979 for 3 months riding a 250 Desmo same colour

That’s an amazing bike, Brian. You must be so proud to own that… surprised it’s not living in the Lounge :D

Glad you finally found one (even though the '73 is prettier :augie ). Looks superb. an absolute minter - completely original or restored some years back? Either way, it's exquisite. And a roundcase is the best looking engine ever. Full stop.

Thank you gents. It is a lovely thing.

Sorry I’d not responded earlier, I’d been busy with family stuff and getting the garage tidy to make way for my bed :p

I’ve formally notified HMRC, and I just need their invoice to clear the VAT bill - just 5% on historic/collectible vehicles and no tariff as it’s from the EU.

A rare word of praise for HMRC
They have a specialist vehicle import dept, it has a direct telephone number, and a real person on the end to advise. They’ve been excellent and easy to chat to. The hardest part was actually finding it in the first place. Even other bods in HMRC didn’t know they existed.

Once the vat is paid, I’ll apply to register it with DVLA, and then apply for historic status.

Meanwhile, I can’t stop visiting the garage to look at it
