ABS Fault

To properly test the front ABS sensor and reluctor ring, you ideally need to use an oscilloscope to measure the waveform is present whilst you spin the front wheel with it off the ground. Not the kind of kit most garage mechanics have lying around (myself included).

We did ride it with my pal on the back with lap top in hand at a steady 30 the speed kept dropping off and coming back on the front wheel and the rear was a steady speed. No oscilloscope available.

A bit more money but I find the Picoscope 2105 PC oscilloscope a handy addition to the tool kit.
It is a usb fitting and turns the laptop into a single channel oscilloscope, very handy for checking the output of numerous sensors.
