Alaska trip 2022

Got any Satan's Rats on your playlist? :D

Great report Chris. TY.

Great trip report! :thumb2
What were the daytime temperatures like? :nenau

Great story. Envious, like others.

I enjoyed a year’s work assignment in Anchorage from late 2012 to 2013 and enjoyed many of these roads and towns. Including North Slope Prudhoe Bay.

Mostly on 4 wheels. Running rental cars where rental cars shouldn’t drive.

And a loop round Anchorage - Fairbanks - Tok - Anchorage on a rented GS1200.

Brilliant report, Chris... thoroughly enjoyed it and there were some stunning photos - thanks for taking the time to share them with us!

Any yet again, the views and scenery in the area are just mind blowing.

Nice to get some pics of the bikes and riders against these backdrops.

When we got to the bridge I walked down the path underneath it, with the help of an American and his 2 young sons I got up onto a concrete ledge which was 5 feet up in the air, from here climbing through the iron work I could access the walkway under the bridge used for maintenance. It had a mesh floor all the way across and seemed like it was 500 meters on the air. Butt clenching. I barely let go of the handguard all the way over. What a view though.

She was lovely.
We thought we'd had a long journey until we met up with the guys and girls from Mexico. Fair play to them. :thumb2

So that was a great finish to a fantastic trip to Alaska.

I'd like to thank all the guys who came on the trip who made it one of the best tours I've done without doubt. The camaradarie and friendship shown were second to none and I'd ride with any of these people at any time and any place.

Mel, Gordon, Jon, David, Andrew, Garry, Nick and Bob and Margaret thanks for your company and hope you enjoyed it as much as me!!

Thanks Chis for all the organising and leading to what was the trip of a lifetime. To the rest of you guys riding the trip with me, thank you for being such a great bunch to ride with. Loved it. Nick

It was a pleasure riding with you despite our choice of dark visors on the first few days in atrocious conditions.
Though they were needed for the rest of the trip. Will have to catch up soon nick, I think of all of us you are possibly the nearest to where I live,:D

My friends have been asking me how my holiday was.
It wasn’t a holiday, it was an adventure!
I didn’t know what I was expecting but it exceeded it, if that makes sense.
Alaska is “Vast” that’s the word that was repeatedly in my head.
I cant better Chris`s ride report, what a great job Chris, thank you.
This adventure, and all of the things that happened, some awesome, some terrifying, ultimately became about the people for me.
Chris organised things so well, and I still cant work out how it pays him.
Bill, the mechanic, (He`s much more than that) is one of those people that you meet in your life and your better for it.
I`d like to think that we all got along really well and were looking out for each other
Mel is a bit of a legend, you’ll learn a lot from watching Mel.
Nick, always up for a laugh, he`s the tech guy and I’m glad to have met him.
Andrew and Jon, my 850 mates, Bob and Margaret, two up, on all that off road stuff, I tip my cap.
Gazza, he’s as comfortable on a bike, off road, on road as I am sitting on the loo!
David, a great dinner companion and prone to turning on the burners now and again.
I can’t think of it as a trip of a lifetime coz that would mean id done it, but it was excellent.
Thanks Chris

I think it's this way guys - what an adventure!.

Thanks to Chris and the gang for a great trip.

I felt exactly the same each year I read Chris's Alaska trip reports and always said 'maybe next year..' Well, 2022 turned out to be 'next year' and as everyone else has said, it was a fantastic experience enjoyed with a really great group of people that I'll not forget and it's left me wanting more.

Maybe next year.....

Brings back fantastic memoriesof 2016

Chris a superb report great, great photos. Thanks for going to the trouble, but you do.--- It took me back to your trip of 2016, which I was lucky to be on. I think of it every 3-4 weeks, terrific memories. It sounds that you had a GOOD CROWD with you. I am please Bill is OK, very nice guy and his wife. I keep looking to see if a trip is underway. Any guys looking in from the 2016 and 15 trip I hope you're all OK Best wishes to you all.
Chris if you add up all the people you have taken on your trips you've given many some fantastic memories. You must be able to write a book on all the trips you've put together. (probably not, don't spoil things) CHRIS THANKS FROM ALL OF US. Hope you do many more. If you haven't been with Chris it cannot be missed, ITS A MUST DO.
Best wishes.

I need to come on one of these ... I need to go somewhere where I can overdose on coffee and sausages and grits and eggs and steak and fries .. somewhere I can read the menus .. somewhere I can go and not see anyone for hours on end.. somewhere where the air is clean and the sky is massive and the water is cold and the animals are scary and the beds are comfy and the clouds are white and the smiles are huge and the accents are slurred and the people are friendly and I can just ride without worrying about anything but enjoying myself and feeling alive..
