Howdy Folks,

It's time to get the ball rolling and get some final commitments from those turning up. Having recently spoken to Trevor at The Burton, they can cope with 50 diners for a pre-ordered meal on the Saturday night. You're all more than welcome to just turn up for drinks and socialising, but if you would like to dine on the Saturday, the seats will go to the first 50 that confirm they're attending dinner.

Current spots already reserved are:-

Myself.
Johnny Boxer
Matron
Annie Hill
Cheesy Mike & Krystina
Matkat & Sue - (Possibly in the bar area with dogs)
Cornish Bob & Claire
Trevor McDevitte
Rob Dawkins
Adventuredon
Ralphy & Jeni
Sue Popplewell
Cogs & Lisa
Dave & Val
Charlie Batty & Julie
Fritz & Bev
Adrian Perkins + 3 = 4

Total 26 as of 01/08/22

Hi All,

I have some mixed news for you. Some of you may have noticed Cogs and Lisa's mention of the walking event - on the facebook page - happening on the same weekend. Now, don't say I didn't give you all fair notification to get yourselves booked in, but John at The Burton rang me last night to inform me that the walkers have stolen a march on the bikers and have booked out The Burtons main venue for their annual party.
We can still carry on with our event, but it has affected Saturday night's meal.
The Burton can now only cater for a pre-booked party of 30 on the Saturday night. The bar is still available to everyone, but dining numbers are now restricted.

We have the following options:

Carry on as we are as we have 17 confirmed for dinner - so room for 13 more - and I have no idea as to who else may be coming and whether they've made their own arrangements for Saturday night.
Chamge the dinner booking to either Friday evening or Sunday lunch.
Reschedule the whole event.
Cancel the whole thing.

John said he will be emailing the Saturday menu choice later today which may help in making your decision.
The one bonus of the walking event party is that they've booked a live band, so there'll be extra entertainment on the night.

I do need your help and guidance on this one as i'm not in a great place at the moment, due to separation and selling our house, but i'm more than happy to continue if everyone else is.

Please let me know your thoughts and preferences and i'll act accordingly.

Cheers All.

Crack on with the 30 (17 booked) to eat
It’ll be a good weekend
I am sure there are other options to eat in the village

Plenty of options in Kington for everyone John as it's a small town with hotels, pubs, chippy, curry house and... for those self catering, a butchers/delicatessen. Oh, for those that might be looking, Ye Olde Tavern isn't currently doing food, but I would recommend you do visit for a pint, especially if you like a real ale.

Hi Rich, please stick me down for a seat. Cheers

Here's the menu for those booked in to The Burton on Saturday folks. It's a short menu, but should suffice for our needs and it's not overly pricey.

Howdy All,

I picked up the stickers yesterday and they're looking good.
I would appreciate your menu choices for those that will be dining in The Burton on the Saturday night by the end of this month please.

Cheers

Rich

Except for a couple of people, I've no idea who else is attending the weekend, where they're staying and what their dining plans are, but i'm hoping we see plenty of old faces turn up for a bit of a catch up.
Sorry to all those that have either not been able to make it or have had to pull out, you'll be missing a great weekend.
To those still coming, i'm really looking forward to seeing you all and having a cracking time. I'm now camping, so will be in Fleece Meadow with my campervan. I'll set up to give some sociable space under cover, as the long term forecast is looking a tad sketchy at present.
