A wee spin to the 6 counties and the Free State.

Some great photos on this thread, the tourist board would be proud of them.

Fair play, well done.

Absolutely not, no apology necessary.
Post away, the more the merrier.:thumb2

Thanks
You mentioned Cong earlier in the thread and as we were in the area, we thought we would go for lunch and we weren’t disappointed

Excellent
Isn't it just a fabulous place? Looks like you're following a similar route to me but with much better weather.
Top tip: Avoid Galway City at rush hour.

I will avoid Galway town
The weather this week is absolutely stunning and not a drop of rain, very unusual

Wednesday dawned and the weather was marginally better. Singularly the finest breakfast of wheaten bread and marmalade to start the day, followed by another quick walk around the fabulous village (town?) of Cong maintained the high spirits of yesterday and it was time to retrace my steps to Leenane. I love wheaten bread and potato bread but the former was noticeable by it's absence on this trip.
Forging an intrepid path for JB I headed past Killary Harbour and more fables, sad history and interesting and amusing facts.

Within a few hundred yards I turned right and headed towards the coast. Roads and scenery like this are the reason I make such slow progress in Ireland. I'm not going to tear through (not that I ever tear anywhere) and I stop regularly to soak it in, give thanks to God for the joy life brings me and take the time to enjoy the moment - something I've only learnt to do recently.

I wasn't the only one determined to seize the moment, regardless of the weather.
"We're on our holidays so we WILL sit on the beach.".
