Road side camping in Scotland

Yes but why would you want to?

Why not? :nenau
If you’re somewhere lovely and remote and you’re not going to be too close to someone’s house etc then crack on. Leave no trace. Not all of us like campsites, b&b’s, hotels etc. :thumb2

I regularly sleep in my van, whilst street parking over night.

I park lawfully, somewhere unobtrusive, arrive late and leave early most of the time. Been doing so for about three years ish now, and about 15k miles in

I don’t put tables and chairs out, from the outside you can’t tell that it’s occupied.

I see it as no different from parking it up overnight. And yes it’s well picked and alarmed

I do wild camping. I understand the attraction, but next to a road?

If you arrive late and leave early then sure, I suppose so. But even little country lanes can get surprisingly busy early doors and it’s not unusual to see locals driving home pissed along the back lanes.

I wouldn’t fancy sleeping a few feet from an unlit single track with soft verges…just saying.
