A reasonably popular area and destination for bods on bikes and cars, these three separate jaunts (lifted from Tourenfahrer magazine August 2022) might be of interest to some bods, if they are looking for ideas.

Download for a small fee or just hack the route(s) into a map.

Carcassonne is a lovely place to spend a few days :thumb2

We were talking about a short stay at Carcassonne next year just yesterday!

Lovely place. Have at least a day to explore the old city.

You probably know, there are some great roads not highlighted in the map above, mostly following the gorges in the Aude Valley north and south of Axat in the map above.

I have done all of those routes....with a map

2007 was the last time i was down there; so just maps it was; Wapping does a great job highlighting routes even tho i've never used what he's posted myself it's there if i ever do;:beerjug:

Fair point

My son and his girlfriend have just flown to Perpignan today. They intend to tour the area in a hire car, so I've sent him the links for these routes.

Thanks Mr Wapping.

I particularly like Carcassonne - had my introduction to CS gas there during a wine growers protest. Pretty debilitating stuff.

You have to love the CRS 😂😂😂

You've lost that French accent :D

I'm going to try and get it back Al....... :D:D:D

Off there 6th Sept to the Balcony Roads in the Vercors region then continuing south to the Border Ridge Roads and the forts near the Col de Tende above Nice.

I hope my new knees hold up as its over to the Czech Republic - my pal hasn't seen the "Operation Anthropoid" sites in Prague.

I just LOVE biking in Europe (as you do too}.

Taking the KTM 690 as its easier to pick up.

Stu has already wished me happy border crossings !!!!!

brexit bastard best wishes from Lancashire. :D:D:D

Ant there is a board game based on that area (strangely called Carccassonne :) ) if you feel real geeky and want to play it there.. My friend did and the locals we very interested as they weren't aware of it.

It's a very good game.
