loving the write up. We seem to have similar attitudes to lunch...and taking photos. Too much faff to stop every 5 miles, just bank the memories

Excellent. I love a RR. Thank you for taking the time. Have a great trip and stay safe.

Not bad for a €21 menu

Missed the lightening, but really……it’s hard to beat a good French storm.

Best news of the night……..my washing is dry on return to the room. (And JD isn’t really all that bad when the coke runs out).

Tomorrow I’m planning a couple of runs around the mountains near here (thanks gents) before heading to my cousin’s.
Really looking forward to this part, the forecast isn’t great but I’m in no rush and if I get wet, I get wet.

I’m also trying to record the odd few seconds on my old TomTom Bandit. For some reason I can’t access it via the app on my phone, never been an issue before so not sure what’s up. Could do with deleting a 55 min video of the inside of my tank bag to free up some card space

€8.50 for brekkie tomorrow, or shall I do the second tarte raisin that’s hanging around my luggage? I’m never going to sleep with decisions of this magnitude weighing heavily.

Wednesday

4am thunder and lightening from another world woke everyone, followed by 2hrs of torrential rain. But by 7am the sun was appearing and the road beckoned.
It was the longest 180 miles I’ve done, a late start and a late finish….but bloody brilliant.

Firstly thanks to those who suggested routes today, secondly thanks to whoever controls the taps……I missed the rain completely. Yippee

I left the hotel and wasn’t really happy with my luggage, so after 10 mins I decided it needed repacking. One of those situations where you think why didn’t you just do it first instead of last. Once sorted all the stress was gone and a brilliant day ahead.

The passes and mountains were amazing, getting into Beaulieu after 5pm with the last stretch some of the best roads I’ve been on.
The gravel was a pain but it was pleasing to see the trucks out clearing it.

I’ll just leave some photos to try and sum up the ride.

And on top of the ride, I’ve learned a new card game.

Think I was about 5300ft on the Puy Mary pass. I know the temp felt about right.

BSD / arrived and loving it. The 20 miles across from the main road were some of the best corners I’ve ever done. Town is lovely too.

Cards are out at my cousin’s place tonight. 8 games of cards between three people and all one by the dealer.
Chance ?

Nice place to be, we have had several carafes of local wine at that place over the years but always in the van.
