Well I can tick all of them off except the Oeztaler Gletscher Strasse ( next year ) especially as I accidentaly managed to do the Zillertaler Hoehenstrasse this year ( not concentrating due to the stunning scenery and missed the turn for the Gerloss Pass)

one better than me as I have not done Zillertal or Oeztaler. I am counting the Jaufen pass as well, even though that is wholly in Italy.

Thanks Wappers. I rode the Otztaler in July in the way back from the Stelvio, also rode the Jaufen. The Otztal was in grim weather and I was quite literally the only person up there.

Not to mention that little-known gem , the Gramlachweg pass at Landeck ;)

the fun way to dodge the roadworks :D

Looks like a good trip - although the (IMHO) Dolomites site just below some of that - it is also a lot of miles for a relatively small amount of passes, you could easily clock up that many in the Dolomites in a days ride, and for us in the UK it is no further....

...However I have ridden the dolmites quite extensively twice, and not so much of Austria, just over half of those passes listed I think.

Indeed, the Dolomites (as other posts / threads show) is indeed a much more compact area, with very different mountains. In many ways, I prefer it to the Alps proper.

I don’t think it’s the purpose of the original article to say that one area or country is better than another. Instead, it was simply to join many of the higher Austrian passes (those above 2,000 metres) together. Will anyone ever ride the lot in one go? Well, I guess someone will have done it and for sure someone more will do it in the future. I quite like holidays that are spent in one country, hence my laps of France and Germany; the Austrian ‘link the high passes’ jaunt sort of appeals to me.
