Just replaced the bushes on one of these and was wondering if anyone knew why there are two circlips on the end of the shaft which the side stand switch fits to? Only one groove to locate a circlip in!

Not really mate, but thanks for doing that. Really odd setup. I can only assume the larger circlip just sits on the shaft, rather than in the groove at the end to hold the washer in place. The smaller circlip, then sits in the grove and stops the switch from slipping off the shaft.
I think you may be right looking at numbers 3 & 4 in the picture of the switch.
