Thinking of making the header pipes on my 1986G/S black as the original were from the factory.

Looking for recomendations as to which is the best process for a durable and as neer to original finish

I think the alternatives are -

1) High temperature paint

2) Ceramic coating

3)Black chrome - as Siebenrock are selling

Any advice / recomedations please

ceramic is very durable, had it done on my Panigale 5 years ago still like new

Ceramic coating is my choice. My complete R80 G/S system has been done. Very durable and looks good. Hi temperature paint has to be redone fairly regularly, as by its very nature, it’s porus and corrosion sets in.

I had black chrome BMW ones and they rotted very quickly.

If I were going down the black route, I'd go ceramic like Skid and Paul say.
