Predictive function

I have always had/ used garmin sat navy and all of them have the function of when you are typing in an address they come up with suggestions of places but they also block off the letters that you end to complete your entry into the address bar . Is there a way to prevents this .
Using a zumo xt at the moment

Why would you want to?
It only greys out letters that don’t form part of a name or word in the units database.

Now the real question is, why is the database so crap?

the best thing is to make the whole keyboard visible on the one screen makes life so much easier

That was certainly possible iirc, it was a switchable function, can’t recall right now but it was something like “easy use keyboard (with gloves on) or it was automatic switched to full kb if out of cradle.
