Were thinking of doing a week in Tenerife in Feb and hiring bikes for a few days, but don’t want to end up in a big resort.

Any recommendations for somewhere quieter, and a hotel?

We stayed in Puerto De La Cruz on the north coast in January. Whilst it is not a small place it is quiet and is not a resort in the same way as Los Christianos or Playa De Los Americas on the south coast, it is olde worlde and quite charming. Plus, it has a number of bike hire places at hand and lots of places of interest. We rented a Kawasaki Versys for a week and explored the Teide National Park and most of the island. We also met Simon Dippenhall as he was on the island at the same time. Be aware that whilst the temperature at sea level will be low to mid 20s when you get 2 kilometers high in the national park it drops to single figures quickly so take appropriate gear. We booked a package holiday with Tui and stayed half board at the H10 4* hotel and it was about £1500 all in for a fortnight for the two of us including flights so very good value.

Last year Freddie Dobbs ( on Youtube) spent few months in Tenerife .

Some insights and nice videos of trips on Triumph motorcycle.

We stayed in La Orotava nearby in late Feb 2020 and walked down into Puerto De La Cruz a couple of times for a curry and a few beers. It was pretty quiet at that time of year, although I wasn't keen on it architecturally as it was a bit of a concrete jungle..

We find Los Gigantes fairly quiet, but with enough bars and restaurants for our stays.

One of my very favourite places on the planet , been to Puerto , many times , stayed in the H10 the last trip :thumb2

I prefer the south of the island myself. Just up from costa Adeje is a small town called Fanabe. The main hotel there is actually the H10 Costa Adeje palace. if you don't want a large hotel ,there are plenty of small guest houses. It is far enough away from all the hustle and bustle but great base to start exploring from . most bike hire places are in the south, so you will also get a better choice and not have as far to go to collect it
