R1150GS ... they still have "it", don't they?
Got my 1150 back in 2006- sat on it at the dealers and bought without riding it. When taking it home I thought had made a massive mistake- slow, vibrates like mad and wobbles from side to side at traffic lights. First weekend in the lakes though and was hooked.
Been all over France, Austria, Germany and Italy on mine prior to buying a 1200adv in 2009 when that took over European tours. It got neglected and forgotten for a bit, then started taking it for days out. Both are sat next to each other in the garage. The banana has 67k on it now and the 1200 77k. Mechanically they are both fine, but the 1200 is a lot more cosmetically challenged, they don’t make them like they used to.
Just needs a Maxton shock on the 1150- got one in the 1200 and it transformed it.
Of the two, the 1150 is what I would get out of the garage first. I love it and would never sell it. I keep window shopping at something newer and sparkly but as soon as I throw a keg over it, the banana wins me over every time.
