Dry squeak from rear end

You're not grasping this now are ya :blast

That alloy bush, in two pieces, wanted removing first. The left to the left, the right to the right. Joint between them in the middle. The O ring would come away in two pieces ... it's held in a groove on the outside, and a groove on the inside. The alloy central bush wants to come out (left side to the left, right side to the right, butt together in the middle) :blast

I would be letting someone that knows what they're doing to do the job for you ... you clearly don't :blast

Once those alloy bushes are removed, ya know, the central alloy bush that the main bolt goes through, you can remove the O rings without damage, thence the circlip, thence the bearing :rob

Simples ....
I’m under no illusions about my abilities, and consider myself a pretty average home mechanic,

I do however get satisfaction from doing work myself rather than paying someone else to do it, so if no specialist tools are required I’m happy to have a go. I’m not too proud to ask advice from those more experienced than me.

As my knackered old circlip pliers couldn’t get to grips with the circlip I referred to, and whilst waiting for new ones to arrive I thought I’d ask for some advice from those with more knowledge than me.
When someone isn’t understanding something you need to see it from their perspective. You on the other hand appear to be the sort of person who when the foreigners don’t understand what you are saying thinks the solution is to just talk more loudly.

I was clearly looking to learn something whereas you took this as an opportunity to wave your dick around. What a condescending little shit you are.

Does this help. The bottom of my Wilbur's that needed a good overhaul.
You can see the two halves of the middle bush. Mine was a bit worn

Thanks for the photos Gazza, very helpful. I take it there was no circlip on your bush on your shock?

I'm not waving my dick about son .... I have nothing to prove, I'm trying to help.

You need to get the alloy bushes out before you progress further ... but you're not listening :blast

Once they're out you have access to the 'O' ring (as was), the circlip and the bush .... as in Gazza's excellent 'photo.

No need to apologise ...

... and there's no need for insults!

Mickey was giving you advice that you weren't grasping. Listen to what he and I were saying. If the 2 part bushing is removed first then you will have access to the bearing/circlip part.

Thank you Gazza :thumb2

On Gazza's photo you can clearly see the groove for the circlips, both sides, that keeps the bearing in.... only available after the the two piece spacer is removed. Left to the left, right to the right .... (Been here before) :blast

I understood what you meant Micky, but maybe the patronising comments are what he remembered and that's what wound him up. Fault on both sides unfortunately........

Patronising? Me? Only because he wasn't listening John ....

Pictures (moving) it's a top bearing but same principle and worth checking as it's had the same hammer as the bottom with, maybe, not as much crud thrown at it. You can use sockets with a bolt through in place of the tool.

I found these in my SmugMug photographs when I replaced my lower bush on the F800GS.

I forgot I had them ....
