Very nice, hours of fun ahead! Is it currently a runner?

On the Super Alce, what is the large toothed wheel / sprocket behind the front of the drive chain?

The last time it ran was a trip over to the Moto piston rally in Spain, it completed the 5000 curves run effortlessly apparently. That was in 2014.
The gear behind the sprocket is the kick starter quadrant gear.

never saw one in the flesh but fascinated by it.
attempted to purchase one from spain but unfortunately did not happen.

I had a Convert for about 10 years. Great bike to ride and, like most Guzzis, very reliable when sorted.

I really like the Convert, looking forward to following the refurbishment :beerjug:

By the way, is that a Bultaco Alpina I see in your first photo? I had one in the 70’s, I bought it fromJohn Collins in Port Talbot and traded it in against a Bultaco Frontera to compete in Enduros with, but I really loved that Alpina :beerjug:

Yes it is a 350, 1975. I’ve just finished restoring it.
