My mate is restoring this 1934 Rudge Ulster 500.

Just love watching the valve gear on this video.

 
The fact that it runs must be a big incentive to crack on with it.

How on earth does someone restore things like this, I'm thinking mainly about parts and spares? Does your mate have to make most things?

Lovely, think if it was mine ide just get all the bits bolted on and use as is. Get it entered into the Beamish trial and have fun:thumb
 
My dad bought one new, just before the war.

I wouldn't restore that, replace any missing bits, wipe it with an oily rag .... and ride it :thumb
