Hi Guys, Not been here since my Dakar got written of in 2012 It think. Anyway I recently was given a 2005 R1200GS by my father-in-law, He's well into his 70s and the bike was getting to much for him (so he bought a F800GT).
The bike has 43K on it. Since owning it I have replaced the FD oil as that had never been done as well as lubed the splines, planning on giving it a service over winter including a new alternator belt. Is there anything else on the bike i need to look at for issues or any must do changes? I've already had a knackered battery and fuel pissing out of the QD's
Only ething i do sometime notice is a bit of noise from the clutch area, goes away if i pull in the clutch and release, no issues with gear changes but i don't think its ever had a clutch.
