New year, new project bike

And finally for today a taller centre stand in stainless from boxer works, which was a bastard to fit and needed a lot of filing to fit

Love that sump protector.

Proper heavy duty military grade 😉

Can I ask what rear rim and tyre you've used there as that's the route I'll be going down route myself.

Much obliged to you. I've just measured the rim I have and it's 2.5" inside and about 3"3/8' over all. So when you say 2.5" I assume you mean inside? If so, that would seem to be consistent with it being the g/s PD rim that I thought it to be. I've seen horrors of having to machine down rear hubs and offsets to fit 18" wheels. It's seems that it's an x-lace tubeless problem.

Keen to see the end product as bar the forks I'm aiming for something similar. Great work.

2.5” rim wide is the inside dimension between the flanges. The rim was supplied by Doug Richardson who also built my front wheel. It isn’t a BMW rim. The rim offset is standard.

Another way of doing it if you want to keep the x-spoke and/or tubeless would be to get a front rim off an R100R and have it laced to the 4 bolt paralever hub. Not actually seen this done myself but internet research suggests it’s possible

Thanks again, you are the harbinger of good news!

Yeah I've read about the R 18" rim too but it seems to involve machining things. But I could have miss understood. I'm okay with building x-lace wheels currently building 3rd so that's no bother. It's the weight of the damn things. I'm going tubed front so tubed rear makes sense. Better choice of tyres too for Offroad use.

I'm relieved there won't be a clash with the para arm.

It is possible.

This is my R100R Paralever rear hub laced to an 18” front rim.

Currently fitted to a monolever arm with a 10mm offset to centralise it. Built by Doug Richardson.

Mucho progress in the garage tonight :beerjug: Trial fit of bodywork to see how it looks and also to confirm that the chopped down R100GS subframe was going to work. I think it looks pretty good

Next job is to get the welder out and add a couple of cross bars to the subframe to mount a luggage plate for the tool case, plus lugs for the mudguard and seat attachments.

I’m now looking for an exhaust can. Does anyone have experience of the Gletter 2 into 1?

That looks lovely. Great job so far.

Pity to get it dirty. (Are those Touratech plastic cups on the back wheel?)

You may have to find a better location for you refreshment containers they will probably get quite muddy.:blast:rob
