Hi - I know there are some phone gurus here.

I need a new phone. I have been offered a list of choices, but it's a bit bewildering.

I like -
  • smaller phone, physically
  • Big memory
  • A proper big button (rather than the screen filling all of the front face)
  • The more recent, high quality camera with 3 lenses

Please, is there one on the list that satisfies those criteria??

Cheers,

Paul

I’ve got a 2020 iphone se 128gb and very happy with it.
Has the big home button you seek too.
As far as I’m aware the 2020+ iphone se has virtually the same innards and camera as some of the more expensive ones

Only the SE has the button on the front now.

Bought one for my son of here recently.

Thanks guys - yes this is what Carphone Warehouse says:

At the heart of the iPhone SE is the A15 Bionic chip which is the same one that is in iPhone 13 & apps load in a flash with everything feeling fluid.

I don't think it has the fancy camera though - I think I'd need to sacrifice the big button for that.... probably????

My wife has an iphone 13 something or other and the absence of a home button makes me want to stick with my se.
As for the camera I’m happy with my SE one.

I recently bought an SE2022 as I prefer the smaller size phone, it does have the large 'Home' button but it is touch sensitive, rather than the mechanical type button of yore. It also has the single lens camera, which I find perfectly acceptable. Internally I'm told it replicates the iPhone 13 for chipset and general wizardry.

13 pro max is pretty great. In my opinion, the later versions only improve the photography feature and the feature in the previous versions is not enough, 13 pro max is suitable.

I have a 14+. I like the large screen. I drive busses and am away a lot. If you go this route be aware there is a relatively low refresh rate on the screen. 60 hertz. Makes for tired eyes. The 14 pro has 100 hertz. I may be using the wrong term but it’s 60 against 100. I recommend buying the best you can as it’s a better tool if you use the features and will last longer before Apple stop supporting it. JJH
