Still getting to grips with what exactly I have on my hands here.
The right tensioner has a 17mm head. I have read that 15mm was the old type and 17mm are the new.
The bike is the 95 model with the plastic binnacle, registered 97.
Is this bike too old to have the new type tensioner as built?
Is it possible that a previous owner changed to the newer type?
Only 18000 miles on it but if it was dealer serviced they could have advised to change both?
Apart from what sounds like a half second delay in the starter disengaging, it's quiet as the grave on startup.
Can't get at the left one for the moment and am aware that it's the one with the potential issue.
