One thing which I don’t like is it’ll only let you use the basic map when route planning on an iPad. Other than that it’s very good.

I am a Gold member and I get the full set of map options to play with when planning routes

Not so, as a gold member at least.

As am I.
When using the iPad for route planning it opens a new route using open street map. If I change to google the cursor stays in the one position so I can’t plan a route.

Are you using the App or website? I have full functionality on my ipad

I’m using the website

I’ve just checked and my membership is route planner gold. Don’t know if it’s the same as yourself.

That’s it spm, you’ve sorted the problem.
I’ve downloaded the app rather than do it online and it now works. Thank you.
