I generally ride alone and use my Gerbing heated jacket with the appropriate fuse fitted.

My question is, my other half also has the same jacket and occasionally comes out so I need to change the fuse. Do I need to change the fuse back every time or can I leave the higher rated fuse in?? Pain in the arse having to keep changing.

she should have her own lead and controller i would have thought .

Yes she does. I'm talking about the lead from the battery which has assorted fuses. I've left the largest fuse in as I never know when she's getting on.

leave the "big fuse" in the lead from the battery and fit a "small fuse" in each of the leads from the Y splitter. This would give you the best protection should one of the jackets develop a fault, and protect the main lead if it gets chafed.

And carry spares. I’ve only once had a fuse go for my Keis jacket, 250 miles from home on a day ride out. I was pleased I had a spare fuse taped to the fuse holder.
