V100 Paint Flaking

My new R1150GS got bought back by BMW after 600 miles for rust issues back in 1999 after I argued that they were simply going to replace the same parts with the same finish that had already corroded, so they're not immune either.

I’m going to reject my Harley too 113,500 miles and 26 years old…

Shocking quality

Well, I would do if I hadn’t written it off last August..

Lots of modern bikes with no front mudguard protection allowing the front wheel to shot blast the front of the engine with road crud and grit. Since lead is no longer used and water based paints are used I’m sure that doesn’t help either.
Fingers crossed with my new 85tt front capanord mudguard and fender extender fitted and the rest will be slathered with acf50.
With all the salt about if you don’t get pro active protect /clean it’s bound to let corrosion win.

Done exactly the same on mine, slathered in ACF50 on front casing as well.....
